U.S. expected to approve inspection plans and allow resumption of 787 deliveries

If confirmed, this would be good news for Boeing as well as the operators, who have 496 of the aircraft type on order. IBA maintains a positive outlook for the Boeing 787, which has held its value reasonably well through the pandemic. A mid-year 2022 built Boeing 787-9 is expected to trade for around US$141m. The aircraft is one of the most fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft in production, which is ideal in the current high fuel price environment. It is also a ‘mid-size' widebody, smaller than the likes of the B777-300ER or A380, useful for longer routes where demand is still recovering post pandemic.

IBA provides aircraft appraisal and consulting services to wide-ranging commercial and corporate clients including leading aviation finance and leasing companies, aircraft operators, insurance firms, lawyers, OEMs and MROs.
