Volotea has launched over 50 initiatives to reduce fuel consumption in the past 5 years. Most notable of these is the transition to a 100% Airbus A319-320 fleet, replacing the Boeing 717, that was phased out in Summer 2021. The A319 fleet produces 31% less CO2 per available seat kilometre than the Boeing 717

This fleet renewal strategy has made a major contribution to the reduction in Volotea's CO2 emissions.
