Newswatch 6th April 2017

Greetings all, just a quick one this week. Last week’s webinar looking at investing in aviation was a thought-provoking session with some interesting questions from participants. We covered getting into aviation, managing your assets and exiting profitably. If you missed the session but would like to catch up, click here to access the slides and audio.

Unfortunately we had some technical issues so only the first half of the webinar audio is on the video, however we will be looking at market trends again next month and will keep you posted with details in due course.

We will also be hosting two seminars in the coming weeks: in the first of which we’ll be partnering with KMPG to cover depreciation and residuals in early May, followed by a joint session with Allen & Overy on defaults and repossessions in late May. Send me an email (phil.seymour@iba.aero) if you would like more details about either session.

We contributed to an excellent article analysing redeliveries in the latest issue of Aircraft Commerce, click here to read it.

A number of themes re-emerged from our last survey examining lessor and lessee perceptions (click here to read) – which leads me to try a snap poll: If you have been on one side of a challenged redelivery, please email marketing@iba.aero with one of the following reasons (or any others you would suggest):

Underestimation of effort
Contractual wrangles
Tech team focused on flying, not returning
Late engagement
Unscheduled repairs
