Newswatch 4th May 2017
Two bits of news to pass on this week. Firstly, and there’ll be more news to follow on this, we are very excited to announce the launch of IBA’s freighter advisory practice. Moshe Haimovich will lead the practice, which we have launched to support the growing number of enquiries from both the investment community analysing alternative returns and from aircraft owners assessing second-life options.
Moshe brings 30+ years of specialist conversion experience to IBA. Previously, he has supported major operators, airlines, lessors and investors on the development of cargo conversion supplementary type certificates and the conversion of more than one hundred aircraft.
Moshe will be with me next week at ISTAT in Hong Kong. Please come and find us to say hello, or let me know of any freighter questions you might have. We will shortly issue our P2F whitepaper, let me know if you would like a copy.
Secondly, we co-hosted a seminar with KPMG this morning on the topics of depreciation, residual values and useful economic lives. Click here to access the slides which are well worth a look. It was interesting to see the range of allowable approaches for applying depreciation and it highlighted the need for early engagement between auditors and appraisers.
