IBA is in Hong Kong this week. As the conference season slows down there is evidence all around that the market remains positive. We see continued airport building and expansion in South East Asia and China, a strong orderbook and backlog and even with growth slowing a little but still +6%, there remains growth in the majority of countries. The attendance here at the conferences by a huge investor/new lessor community shows how attractive the sector is compared to other asset classes.
Not surprisingly the CSeries continues to be a hot topic as the impact slowly unfolds and to that end, I’d like to highlight IBA’s take on the matter, which you can access here. Our view is that Boeing is perhaps the winner in terms of manoeuvrings. Tariffs aside, our report focuses more on the potential customer base for the CSeries and how that expands under Airbus’ oversight. Feedback encouraged as ever and if you wanted additional analysis on this, or other sectors, drop me a mail.
