This year’s Farnborough Airshow was bigger than ever, with more than 80,000 attending the bi-yearly event that brings together the biggest and best in the aviation industry.
The week-long event in Hampshire provides a great platform for businesses and investors to network and display advancements in the field. While the first 5 days are exclusive for trade, the final 2 days are open to the public and allow everyone to get an insight into the exciting world of aviation and aircraft.

Most notably, this year was one of the most successful in terms of deals. The event saw nearly £150 billion spent through deals – an increase of £52 billion over the previous airshow back in 2016. £120 billion was spent on commercial aircraft orders, while £17 billion was also spent engines. In total, 1400 aircraft and 1432 engines were ordered throughout the week.
In our post Farnborough Airshow Webinar, Stuart Hatcher, Mike Yeomans and Paul Lyons discuss how this increase reflects a growing confidence in the future growth of the global aerospace industry, as well as provide insight into how the changes and backlogs are impacting both businesses and investors.
