IBA Named "Appraiser Of The Year" For The Third Time In Four Years

The coveted awards, which celebrate the year's most outstanding performers in the aviation finance sector, saw IBA recognised by an industry-wide vote and a panel of expert judges for the trusted appraisal and intelligence services.

Voters were this year asked to pay particular attention to companies' responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, including their ability to raise additional funds and manage a new operating environment as well as their overall crisis response and future resilience.

During 2020, IBA performed over 3,500 transaction and portfolio valuations, appraised 90% of asset backed security (ABS) structures, and was appointed Appraiser and Adviser to COMAC's ARJ21 programme. IBA appointed several new aviation analysts to meet demand for maintenance adjusted appraisals of less common asset types and opened new offices in China, the US and Singapore.

Over the last year IBA has invested substantially in its online aviation analytics platform, InsightIQ. The new and fully integrated aviation data platform is specifically tailored to the needs of the aviation finance market and equips appraisers with industry leading analytics and a comprehensive market perspective. IBA's efforts to support its customers and the wider industry throughout the pandemic were recognised in the results of the Appraiser of the Year award survey: IBA received almost three times as many votes as the runner-up.
