Newswatch: 12th January 2017
IBA ran its 2017 market forecast webinar this morning and, as we said in the session, it’s the trickiest year to call in a long time with such an unusual mix of uncertainty and instability combined with continued investor appetite for assets. Click here to access the slides and recording.
Continuing the content theme, today IBA also published its response to the assessment of the aircraft valuation business from Dick Forsberg, Avolon’s Strategy Director. It’s an important and emotive topic and I would be keen to hear your thoughts on either perspective. Dick and I will be continuing our debate in Dublin next week, both publicly at the AFJ conference, and no doubt privately too… Click here to read my thoughts in Aviation Finance, or here to digest the paper in full.
Speaking of Dublin, we are there en masse from Sunday to Friday. Let us know if you’ve got time for a catch up. We are especially keen to talk technology as we are shortly announcing some exciting tech-investments in both our database and inspections businesses. I mentioned our new database previously and we are also pleased to announce that IBA is the launch partner for Honeywell’s Vocollect for the aviation leasing sector. Vocollect brings together voice recognition, file attachments and reports all via one device. The formatting and report delivery that the system provides puts IBA at the leading edge of technical inspections. We will be in Dublin with Honeywell next week if you want to see us about this new process.
